shell program to print numbers up to given range

/* series.sh   */

echo "enter your range"
read n
i=1

while [ $i -le $n ]
do
     echo $i
     i=`expr $i + 1`
done

/home/anil/~$ sh series.sh
enter your range
10
12345678910

/home/anil/~$-

note: while loop works like same in c program but with little bit equivalent changes .

while followed by a condition followed by a then and done statement

while [ condition ]
then
display statements
done
